Ballyhoura Trails

New Bike

I went for spin on my new Lapierre full suspension xc bike at Ballyhoura mountain bike trail center in Limerick today. I bought the new bike so I'd have two bikes and be able to bring my little bro and mates along with me, I have already initiaited Calliam and he loved it. I spent the day in a cloud shooting along quality flowing single track trails, balancing my way across slim and slippy wooden boardwalks and grovelling my way up horrendously long steep climbs. I was ringing wet, the trail was 35k long and it battered me. Great fun :) I was knackered for the last 5k and my feet were freezing. It was twice as long as any of the other rides I've been on since starting back the biking, I was happy to have finished it, the fitness is coming along nicely. I met a sound local lad who had broken his back too, so we had an aul chat about accidents, operations and recovery. Got my new bike at a steal of a price off donedeal.ie, it's worth more than twice what I paid for it new and it's in spotless condition and seen very little use(not for long). The bedrock was a red sandstone clonglomerate, I kept my eye out for some bouldering potential, but I saw nothing :( Epic day out, great trail center all together !!
